Republic Obituary
Maybe some of you still remember the Spy Hunter clone called Republic, which was
once coded by Pink/Reservoir Gods. Unfortunately he lost all sources in his
great harddisk crash in 1998. Some bits and pieces seem to have survived the
crash since one falcon 4 voice module from Republic appeared at EIL2. It was
called "REPUBLIC SOUNDTRACK EIL2 MiX" and it sounded very much like a Bond
theme. 24th July 199 the Reservoir Gods Network News wrote that MSG finished the
music in September'98 ( http://makeashorterlink.com/?W4A726709 ).
You can also still find some screenshots there. Strange enough MSG added a
message reading "Hooray republic will be out soon" to the zip-file. So
there's life in the old dog yet. Hopefully Pink will start another attempt,
especially since all level gfx were finished and rumours say they have
survived the crash and can still be found on Ripley's harddisk.
