LYNX GAMES IN
PROGRESS
---------------------------------- part one ------------------------------------
First of all, please note that these games are more like projects than actual
games you should be waiting for. Not that I don't wish to see them out someday
but as you'll read further, the guy behind Z Technologies is a gfxman and he's
still looking for a coder :( Anyway let's see what he offers, after all maybe
some of our readers are LYNX coders :) Btw all info, including game files and
pictures were taken from http://www.geocities.com/Tokyo/Towers/9446/lynx.html
You can reach this ambitious gfxman at bbankhea@polymail.cpunix.calpoly.edu

Lean Machines(tm):
Game type: Arcade forward scrolling Racing
Approximate time to arrival: Once Z-t finds a Lynx Programmer.
ComLynx ? Planed 6
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overview:
As the light turns green, 20 sport scars roar off of the line, the adrenaline
is felt throuout the spectators... Lean Machines is a trip around the world, in
a sport scar. Starting in Britain, you must drive your car to victory across 16
distinct race courses. The other driver want the gold cup as much as you do, so
stay ahead of the pack and take first. This ain't no pleasure drive either, you
break, you buy, unless of course you broke ! So strap in and get set for fast
paced racing, to 16 beautiful vistas around the world, and get ready to knock
tome fenders doing it.
Gameplay:
Lean Machines is geared for the casual racer, yet its difficulty level settings
can be set to give even the most seasoned video racer a run for their money.
The gameplay is fairly straight forward, drive, get fuel if you need it. The
game will be easy to pick up and learn how to play, but HARD to both win, and
put down. LM's targeted graphics engine will be used with several other games,
one being a sequel with more tracks. The target GFX engine will be able to do
hills many types of curves, and road texturing ( minimally ) The engine will
most likely resemble the Popular Lotus series of racing games for the amiga and
Sega Genesis, by EA, and Gremlin Graphics.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Formula One World Circuit(F1WC)(tm):
Game type: Arcade forward scrolling Racing
Approximate time to arrival: Once Z-t finds a Lynx Programmer.
ComLynx? Planned 4
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overview:
Scream the Eases at Hockenheim, Germany at 100 mph, or cut a line through the
chicanes at Monty Carlo, Monaco. It is all in there... Suit up, Strap in, put
your helmet on, and get ready. As your pit crew warns you again about the
weather conditions over the radio, you just assume let the rain soak your face
rather than your sweat. The ominous red light appears above your head, and,
GREEN. The hi-pitch wine of your finely tuned (yeah hard to start) V-12 fill
your ears, within seconds your cruising at 120. The first turn approaches and
you feel the adrenaline kick in...
Gameplay:
F1WC is going to lean more toward the end of Arcade Physics rather than
traditional simulator physics. This game, like the Z-t produced Lean Machines,
will have difficulty settings that will control your handling You will have to
worry about your tires, and speed around corners, leading to total mastery of
each nook, chicane and hairpin on each track. F1WC will have the features of
setting up the cars front and rear wings, tires, and transmission types. Racing
will wear your tires out and you will have to pit for Tires, and car damage
repair( if u need 2). F1WC is by no means a Simulator, the turns will wear out
your tires( noticeably), but there is no real-life physics. This game will use
( as stated ) the Lean Machines GFX engine, it will feature hills, and curves
of any intensity.

Raider Y(tm):
Game type: Side view scrolling shooter
Approximate time to arrival: Once Z-t finds a Lynx Programmer.
ComLynx? Planned for 4
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overview:
Revenge: A dish best served cold... Space is definitely cold.
The Junos Empire, vanquished from the planet Moralos has once again risen to
power. The Junos have decided to reclaim the planet Moralos, and then spread
themselves throughout the entire solar system, killing any thing that gets in
their way. The major planets have all been attacked by Junos fighters and
gunboats. The special emergency attack squadron "Raider Y" has been despatched
to eradicate the Junos fighters and supports ships. First on Moralos, then to
sweep a path to the other side of the asteroid belt and strike the Junos on
their planet of exile, Corbota, a now heavily mechanized and foreboding mega
fortress. The Raider Y squadron will ultimately have to penetrate this hulking
battlement and conquer the Junos once and for all...
Gameplay:
Raider Y will hopefully play similar to the popular "gradius" series for the
Nintendos, the game will use some of the Lynx's advanced functions intermixed
with colourful "Japanimation" styled ships. The game is currently composed of 6
stages(picked randomly by the player via planetary map) and no hidden stages.
Plans for the future include a 7th stage, plus two hidden stages, as well as
cheats for unlimited shields, full weapons after you do die, and of course
multiplayer. Raider Y will play on two vertical Lynx screens (like Gates of
Zendocon) the game will total your kills, making a perfect nearly impossible.
The 4 player modes will add to the fun as players will be going after each
other's kills to enhance their scores, as well as clearing out the level.
Different from most side view scrolling shooters is that players will be able
to control their scroll rate with a thrusters.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Pong Attack(tm):
Game type: Overhead 2d Pong
Approximate time to arrival: Once Z-t finds a Lynx Programmer.
ComLynx? Planed 4
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overview:
Pong, from 1977 to 1997, a game with addictive ness so powerful it has made
itself onto the Lynx. Pong Attack, a very special game of pong has special
weapons like: Hyper beams, Ball phasers, and Snail missiles that can really
screw the competition. Choose from 4 paddles, from the good old standard to the
wide paddle. Players pong it out on several different courts, each trying to
make it to the championship finals.
Gameplay:
Pong will try to combine the best elements of the original with the spice
needed with today's games. The original version (as an Easter egg !) will be
playable. Pong Attack is a match a la tennis, the pongers move all around the
court trying to hit the ball. Weapons will cause momentary disarray as they can
cause the ponger that they hit to behave extremely fast, or extremely slow, as
well as other little weapons.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Final Strike(tm):
Game type: Sideview Scrolling Jump&shoot
Approximate time to arrival: Once Z-t finds a Lynx Programmer.
ComLynx? Planed 6
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Overview:
From the far reaches of space an evil entity has invaded Earth... Sal's last
message came through loud and clear over an hour ago from the advanced recon
scout position a few miles ahead. Suddenly though the communications cut out...
The sweltering jungle heat makes you feel like rusting, your combat troop
should be in between two units, but you feel as though you are the only units
out there now. Comms from unit 5 are out, and Sal's unit has either initiated
radio silence, or is dead. Its time to advance, across the field, and back into
the bushes. You bring up the rear as the first troop enters the field, a death
chopper mows him and the rest of the troop down, it fires madly into the forest
one of the last units in your troop runs toward you, but falls short at your
heels he's dead, there all dead... Time to get some retribution...
Gameplay:
Take Doom, put it on side view, and then take Doom Troopers (Snes) and shrink
it. There u have it Final Strike will be a gory shooter. There will be a death
match mode were six players can duke it out. There will be death match levels,
and players can DM on the regular mission levels ala warp. The regular game
(progressing through all of the Missions) is at max two players though. Final
Strike will have some special effects, like Grenades and rockets, a Quake-ish
(hell this is 2D ) gibing of weak enemies will occur once they are hit dead on
with a grenade or a rocket.
