INSIDE THE SCENE
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
AGGRESSION
> It seems they didn't attend OUTLINE 2005, hence we can fear that their demo
previewed last year is currently frozen :( Let's hope it's not dead !
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Atari Legend /
Elite
> Marcer started doing chiptunes with MM2.1 and MaxYMiser, the preview tunes
which hit our machines a few days ago are outstanding. You might check for
yourself by selecting tune 3 from the shell :) Besides he is collecting intros
for the next bunch of games to be released under the Atari Legend / Elite web-
site. Intro coders are Jace / STK and Cyclone / X-Troll

http://www.algonet.se/~marcer/eliteNo1m/ (seems to be dead)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CHECKPOINT
> Defjam has totally vanished from the Atari Scene but I hope he's doing well.
You can consider the crew as dead tho both 505 and Exocet are still working
with everyone out there :)
> Defjam's intro for Alive 8, is almost finished. It contains one of the fastest
Z-Rotozoomers so far. However Defjam hasn't answered any of the mails we sent
him so that we are not sure what to do, it would be a pain to see this screen
going to the trashcan.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CREAM
> If you read Ultra's diary you'll be happy to know that HEFTIG isn't dead,
well it seems that 2005 could be THE year ! Tho a nasty hd crash tried to
slow things even more (cough), it seems that no source was lost.
However the release of HEFTIG isn't planned for this year since there seem to
be ziqs and gfx missing.
> Agent T started pixeling on Atari again, rumours say he's quite motivated and
will work on HEFTIG too.
> Tao took part to the latest YM ROCKERZ prod. Except for that, the crew has
been more than discreet for years now :(
HQ : http://cream.atari.org/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
D.H.S.
> This is quite unusual but, yes, even DHS seem a bit sleepy these days. They
entered a nice 4Kb for CT60 at Outline 2005 but that's all.
> Should we believe that Evil is trying a few things out on CT60 ? Sure he is.
We heard about some engine for a shooter with brilliant specs ! As for
releases, only future will tell.
> DHS website is still as interesting as ever tho it also suffers from an
overall lack of activity in the Scene...
HQ : http://dhs.atari.org/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DUNE
> When most people could think the crew has gone inactive, I can tell you DUNE
is working on several projects at once : trying to get MY GALAXY completed
after Corbeau vanished, also working on a cool game called TOOGLE.
> SEEDS and FANTASIA's Collector are still a bit further in the pipeline...
HQ : http://www.dune-design.com/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EVOLUTION
> They entered the OUTLINE 2005 compo with a CT60 shooter in 4Kb. Not much to
feed on but we know Deez is still working on his huge demo previewed last
year at the first Outline.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
GWEM
> This lone musician has released a new chip editor called maxYMiser that can
produce tons of incredible sounds !
> To show what maxYMiser can do, he also released a music disk called PHATT
that includes 10 chips including a great cover of the main soundtrack of
Crickey Wot a Scorcher demo !
> On top of that he coded a small 128b drum-machine and as a follow up the 128b
Theremin.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
JANEY
> The author of AvP on the Jaguar didn't attend Outline 2005 against all his
personal announcements and seems to have been captured by some hideous aliens
from outer space. Perhaps he will reappear right before the next event :)
HQ : http://andreww.atari-users.net/ (no content due to extended maintenance)
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
KUA
Software
> Ggn has been busy with his Psychobee bootsector, which ranked 4th at Outline.
Besides he was writing some articles for Alive and is working on a disk image
converter for Atari Legend. The aim of that project is to convert a few
thousand Fcopy and Ecopy DIM images into the well known ST format. We might be
able to present you his progress on Fcopy image conversion in this very issue.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
LINEOUT
> Of course they were organizers of another cool OUTLINE party and they even
released a very nice looking invitation for all Ataris !
> Earx entered the compos with a 4Kb screen showing a very nice voxel landscape
for CT60. Does it mean that his next demo will be CT60 only ? We'll see.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MJJ-Prod
> Tobe is working on a blitter punishing demo for the huno party. Well informed
sources told us the screen would look very liquid :)
> C-Rem is busy with a PS2 production, let's see what the master will create for
this evil platform. Besides he has his hands in nearly every prod that needs
graphics :)
HQ : http://perso.wanadoo.fr/mjjprod/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PARADIZE
> They released a small puzzler for all Ataris called PENTA
> They won the game compo with a preview of POOZ. Game is due to hit earth as
soon as possible but we are taking enough time to offer the best quality.
> Cooper is working on graphics for Atari Legend and has created some nice logos
since he is
> Next game is already under construction, another puzzler by Sunnyboy which is
called Nuclear Waste Dump. The game mostly needs gfx now.
HQ : http://paradize.atari.org/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
PARADOX
> These STe fanatics have entered (and won) the demo compo at OUTLINE 2005.
Their demo called PACEMAKER is still being polished but should be out very
soon.
> It seems 505 has joined them.
HQ : http://paradox.atari.org/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
RESERVOIR GODS
> They have entered the OUTLINE 2005 compo with a new game called CLIX.
Unfortunately the game isn't available yet, while we're still waiting for
CLOGGED UP which was seen last year :(
Both delays are caused by missing contributions eg. gfx or ziks, it seems the
busiest man on earth is pink, who is working on several RG game projects at
the same time to compensate the loss of time. This also means asap as his team
mates get back to work on their stuff the releases might be quite close
together.
> FAERY LANDS ? Erm ask me again next year please...
HQ : http://rg.atari.org/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
TSCC
> Their Falcon demo BEAMS is finally out and it rocks !
> Moondog has joined forces with both CiH and Cxt in this very magazine !
> Lotek might be back in Alive, perhaps in the 5th aniversary issue at the end
of the year.
> Ray is now back working on his WOLFENSTEIN 3D project and the latest
preview shows a LOT of improvements. Release seems very close now ! If you
keep in mind what "very close" means in Atari terms :)
HQ : http://tscc.atari.org/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
X-Troll
> Sunnyboy has become a father for the 2nd time on 27th of March and won the 3rd
prize in the bootsector compo of Outline 2005.
> Lethal Xcess XL is still dormating since Cyclone is busy with other tasks like
this disk magazine, or coding an Intros for Atari Legend not to mention the
delayed intros for Alive.
HQ : http://www.edv-rudolf.de/xtroll/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YESCREW
> Swe has released a small intro called MENTAL PONG at OUTLINE 2005.
> No other progress has been heard about BARS... It seems there is a problem
with the original game, as bars is a PC conversion. Seems to be hard to find
a machine which still runs old DOS games.
HQ : http://yescrew.atari.org/
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
YM
ROCKERZ
> They have released another cool music disk called TYMEWARP. This time they
bring true YM chips using no sid or other tricks ! Pure oldschool and it even
includes a nice game mixing break out and space invaders :)
HQ : http://ymrockerz.atari.org/
