I was strongly advised to review this erm, demo ? and even was threatened
to be blackmailed... Tho I doubt my aggressor actually thought of the way to
put my lousy reputation at risk :) Anyway, being ill and gradually drunken, I
thought it was safer to save my life and review this demo :p

The crazy UKers who have definitely eaten too much of mad cows are back
with another mutant production, being a strange mixture of ASCII and what could
be called neighbour to gfx. Sound is awful btw, in case I forget to mention it
later.
This time, the demo that was presented and disqualified at ALT 5, comes in
two flavours, either STe or Falcon. Indeed the ASCII engine seems to require
extra features than a single STf cannot offer. You want DMA sound, blitter and
thousands of colours ? Hey, didn't you read above ? It's a Dildo Fatwa release
pals ! Looks more like a C64 emulator :)
Oki then, it seems that Charcoal and Ferlease have managed to escape from
their loony asylum again, keep your kids off the streets !
The show starts with quite a long loading, so that I started wondering if
it had crashed or what. After some time, beeping torture proved that I was so
wrong !
This show is mainly dedicated to hilary Rosen and to speak the truth I have
no idea about who the fuck that woman is. Early screens imply that she likes
having sex with donkeys (no real picture to prove it tho, so bad :).
After some time and some fake fx, like ASCII pseudo transitions, it goes on
with an Ebola virus test that proves funny enough indeed (at last something I
could understand !). I'll continue with mocking Wiztom shadebobs screen we've
been waiting for so long that I doubt anyone will remember the ST when it
finally comes out :)
It also mock windoze error messages and other stuff that have skipped of my
mind atm. It ends with a final bombing and then you're back under GEM. Please
note that this time there are some real gfx included in this prod, not that it
really improves things anyway.
Last words : I don't want to spend more time than needed on that review.
This demo isn't so bad except maybe for the unbearable msx but I surely missed
many of the jokes (who the fuck is that Hilary ??) and got bored soon enough.
Still nice to see ASCII demos and I'm pretty sure that the developped engine is
quite interesting in itself but I would rather watch a fake with puns I can
fully understand... I have tons of ideas if someone is interested :) If you're
English and like ASCII stuff, get this prod, otherwise I'm not sure you'll get
the point of this strange demo :) As a closing comment, I could add that I
don't like Strider's fakes either, tho I'm French :)
